Mac Pro: Può Essere Collocato In Orizzontale

In queste ultime ore, tutti coloro che hanno acquistato il nuovo Mac Pro si sono chiesti qualora fosse possibile porre la nuova workstation di Apple in orizzontale. In un documento di supporto tecnico, Apple spiega che è possibile utilizzare il nuovo Mac Pro, non solo in verticale ma anche in orizzontale, collocandolo di lato. Andiamo a vedere in dettaglio.

Orizzontale O Verticale? A Voi La Scelta

Il nuovo Mac Pro è un computer che ha completamente rivoluzionario il modo di concepire le workstation. L’azienda di Cupertino ha sviluppato ed ingegnerizzato tutte le sue componenti, ottenendo una workstation che offre performance elevate ed un design all’avanguardia. Il Mac Pro, oltre a poter essere collocato in verticale, può essere posizionato in orizzontale, l’importante è non ostruitre la parte superiore, in modo tale da permettere al dissipatore di raffreddare le GPU e CPU. Qualora sia necessario affiancare più macchine, Apple suggerisce di lasciare qualche centimetro tra una macchina e l’altra. Aziende come MacStadium, che offrirà hosting server Mac Pro in rack e stack, grazie al nuovo design del Mac Pro riuscirà ad avere a disposizione 270 Mac Pro per POD (gruppi di apparati) e quest’ultimi occuperanno solamente 12 metri quadrati di spazio.

The Mac Pro (2013) has a fan system capable of cooling the computer in a vertical or horizontal orientation as long as you follow these guidelines.

• Provide enough space at each end of the computer for unrestricted airflow into the base and out the exhaust at the top. Make sure that the air intake and exhaust ports are not covered.
• When using multiple Mac Pro (Late 2013) computers, do not direct the exhaust at the top of one Mac Pro towards the intake of another system. Place the computers side by side with a gap of at least several inches between them.
• When on its side, secure the Mac Pro (Late 2013) to be sure that it doesn’t roll. Place the computer on a protective surface that will not scratch or damage the enclosure. Note: The Apple Limited Warranty does not cover cosmetic damage to the enclosure.
• Orient the computer so that the Input/Output (I/O) panel remains accessible during use.

Il design del Mac Pro è stato ottimizzato per occupare il minor spazio possibile, ma al tempo stesso l‘Unified Thermal Core permette di raffreddare con una singola ventola tutto l’hardware presente. Infine, crediamo che nei prossimi mesi, i principali produttori di rack realizzeranno soluzioni ad hoc, in stile modulare Lego, e sistemi di ventilazione particolari. Cosa ne pensate?
